BIOGRAPHY
Steven Quach is a director who tells stories about identity because he’s had to figure out his own. Growing up between cultures, often in spaces that tried to box him in, he learned early on that people are rarely just one thing. Film became a space where he could explore the in-between, the contradictions, the parts of ourselves that don’t fit into simple categories.
When words didn’t feel like enough, films did. Through filmmaking, he found a way to express what was harder to say out loud. Directing gave him the freedom to hold multiple truths at once and to tell stories from different angles without forcing them into a single answer.
His work focuses on people at turning points, when something shifts, and identity feels uncertain. For Steven, filmmaking isn’t about having the answer. It’s about exploring the tension honestly and letting the audience find themselves inside it.
